The 8 Secrets to Raise Your Child’s Self-Confidence
We know that self-confidence or self-esteem is not something we are born with. It is something we earn, like a gift. Why is self-confidence so important? According to KidsHealth, children with low self-confidence feel unsure of themselves and give up easily, while children with high self-confidence usually have the confidence to try new things and more likely to try their best in doing things. Since that self-confidence grows slowly over time — as adults, we may help the children to develop their sense of self-worth by practicing these few ways.
Create a family Time Box. You may fill it with your child's photos, school report cards, or even drawings that she made since in her kindergarten or anything that you guys will want to remember years from now. Then, make a vow to open the Time Box together when your child turning a teenager.
The FIVE great things! Stop asking your child how school was. Try asking your child to tell you 5 great things he or she did at school that day. You will amaze to hear the answers. You may ask them to elaborate a little. I have tried this on my little ones. It works!
